Smt. Fulbasan Yadav
Empowering 1.5 lakh women
Smt. Fulbasan Yadav is doing commendable social service to empower women in the backward district of Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh. She formed 11382 self-help groups with 1,50,000 members enabling their financial empowerment, contributing improvement in community’s economy and education of women in a big way. These Self Help Groups are providing free mid day meals to children in 1741 schools. She has fought for and facilitated allotment of 279 rations depots to women. A victim of child marriage herself, Smt. Fulbasan Basan’s contribution to stop social evils of child marriage, female foeticide and alcoholism is commendable and will serve as an example for others to follow.
Smt. Fulbasan Yadav is awarded ‘S R Jindal Prize – 2012’ at the hands of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji jointly with Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Shri.T.Duryodhana Reddy, Mr.Dipendra Manocha, and Amar Sewa Sangam in the field of ‘Exemplary Service to Mankind in any field’. The Award carries a Cash Prize of Rs. 1 Crore to be shared equally.
