Exposing and fighting corruption through NUKKAD NATAKS
Shri Sanjeeb Singh Katiyar an artist and a social activist uses the unique method to unmask the corrupt persons and the corrupt system through his street plays (Nukkad Nataks). His Nukkad Nataks are exposing corrupt persons so effectively that the concerned corrupt persons in authority are using their power to curb his freedom of expression in bringing out corrupt practices and exposing the corrupt. Many of his street plays propelled the authorities to take action against the culprits. He has carried on with his crusade against corruption regardless of his personal discomfort, harassment and hardship.
Even when arrested a few times, he never succumbed before the corrupt system. Even his personal harassment also could never deter him or dampen his spirits in his crusade against corruption.
Shri Sanjeeb Singh Katiyar is awarded the ‘S R Jindal Prize – 2012’ at the hands of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji jointly with Shri Satyendra Kumar Dubey , Shri Subhash Chandra Agrawal and Shri Ajay Shankar Dubey in the field of ‘Crusade against Corruption’. The Award carries a Cash Prize of Rs. 1 Crore to be shared equally.
