Established world class metro in Delhi

Dr. Elattuvalapil. Sreedharan as the Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd, has implemented Phase I and Phase II of Delhi Metro project, covering 190 kms, and costing

Rs. 35,000 crore, in a record time of 12 years and within the sanctioned cost.  Delhi Metro has incorporated front line technologies in all areas of its functioning and is hailed as a world class Metro, which has changed not only the travel style of the people of Delhi but also their social attitude in using a public transport system.   Successful completion of the Delhi Metro has attracted World-wide attention and has demonstrated to the world that India can plan, design and execute successfully complex infrastructure projects.

Dr. E. Sreedharan former Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is presented with the Honorary award under ‘SR Jindal Prize – 2012’ at the hands of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji for his exceptional contribution in the establishment and development of Delhi Metro.
